WELCOME
Hello there and welcome to the parish youth group listowel or PYGL. We are a small (religious group) group of teens that attend/host social events. The group started in September 2019 and since then we have built a tightly knit and ever expanding group continuously aiming to give back to our Parish and community. Usually, we would gather in the parish meeting room to chat and to discuss the agenda and to have fun. (More on that below!). We are sure you would like to join us if you want to and you can be sure that everyone will give you a warm welcome and there are no fees to join the group. If you are interested in joining, keep on reading to see what events we take part in and for more info about online meetings and what is going on right now with Covid 19.

ABOUT US
As members of the Parish Youth group, we aim to give back to the lively community that we credit ourselves for. We often come together as a group and plan different activities that are both fun and help us to live as Jesus wants us to. Right from the start, we were graciously given the space and freedom to have a say in what we do; even designing our very own group logo. We have had the pleasure of volunteering at our local Sera Husky rescue centre as well as visiting nursing homes, providing some good music, song and smiles. In December 2019 through a lot of time and teamwork, we scripted and performed our very own Christmas/Advent show for the parish. Although we are facing setbacks due to the current climate, our group is looking ahead to the future with hope and initiative so that with an abundance of laughter and determination our Parish Youth Group can continue to bring some light to our locality.
Leaders/Roles/ Atmosphere
Since our forming, the group has taken on more structured roles including Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer which get switched up annually. Every year, we rotate titles and vote for different people to take on something new. Each individual has a different and valuable part in the group, contributing their opinion and ideas. We work as a team on each activity allowing for friendship and discovery of ideas to build goals. Our group leaders oversee the group and ensure everything is ran smoothly. (We voted as a group to nominate Hannah as our Chairperson, John as our Secretary and Fiona as our Treasurer.) Our group is a place for people to express themselves in a safe and welcoming space with the support of the other group members.
Come and Join Us
New members are always welcome. Our group is open to ages 12+. We meet at least once a month. Due to Covid-19, the amount of work we can do together is restricted, but we use Zoom calls to virtually chat to one another, allowing us to continue meeting and sharing ideas. Social Media is very useful with different apps such as Instagram. Follow and join us there!! Or, contact us through our local parish website. Look out for notices in our Parish Newsletter or on our Church notice board. We meet regularly. Come and join us!
